Easy Weekend

Ah man...what a nice weekend. It was like a Sabbath weekend, not just one day. Saturday Poppi (Ms.Karen) got Holly and I working on crossword puzzles. Did that while eating lunch and throughout the day. We paused to go for a hour+ walk around the neighborhoods here.

About 30 minutes in to the walk, we came across a pond and T-Bone had a blast playing fetch in the water. Poor T-Bone's eyes aren't what they used to be though. He had a hard time find the stick in the choppy waters. We will definitely take his bright orange water toy next time. For dinner we grilled burgers for dinner and relaxed. Sunday we worshiped at the Austin Stone, came home and Holly and I went for 3 mile jog around the 'hood. More word games and relaxing. Ribs and mac 'n chees for dinner and now some Olympics on TV. Good times.

Conflict Resolutions

Jeremy and Jordan were fighting over their Alphabet Train today. I was hurrying to break it up when Jeremy grabbed Jordan by the head and pulled him close. I thought "Oh no! Hes going to bite him," but no, he had another plan. He put their foreheads together and just like that all was forgiven and their squabble laid to rest. They laughed and continued on playing. The things we could learn from one year old's.

Happy Happy 1st Birthday Party

What fun we (the parents) had last Saturday for the boys first birthday party. We can't say enough how blessed we are to have such great friends and family to come celebrate our boys' first birthday. Thank you all so much. The boys played around with friends all day long and skipped their nap. They were so happy to have everyone looking at them while they were sung to and got a piece of cake. They didn't want to get their hands dirty. They studied the cake for a while and finally Jeremy just ditched the hands deal and just went in for a bite.

That cracked Jordan up and eventually Jordan did the same thing. After a while they finally decided it was okay to get their hands dirty and they ripped that piece of cake to smithereens. They had fun opening their gifts and even played with the toys some instead of just playing with the wrapping paper. Every once in a while they let out a "Ouuuu" when they got a good toy.

At dinner time they were a bit fussy because of the whole skipped a nap thing. Then more family came over for a visit and they were back in entertaining mode. They had more fun playing with all their toys and with Uncle Mike that they forgot they were tired. They then went a half hour past their normal bath time...and eventually it caught up with them, but they made it to bed and slept good.

My cousin Augi and the family drove in from Houston for this special occasion. His kids (Serena and Diego) are huge now. Augi mentioned Serena recently had her first sleepover. Made me a little sad thinking about how I practically grew up living at my Tia Esther and Tio Agustin's house with my cousins and how the boys would not have that. Those were fun times...except for the time we were playing on the side gate, swinging ourselves on it and the gate (wrought iron) broke off. Ay chihuahua was Tio mad. If your looking for photo albums of the party, you've come to the right place. The first album (click here) are the pictures we took. The second album (click here) has the really good pictures our neighbor Angela took for us. They came out really really good! The last pic here is of the card the boys' cousin Serena made for them :)

Video to come later...I need some sleep...
