From Blobs to Babies

Today we start the 15th week:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (our sono lady said each A and B both weighed 4 ounces!). He's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. His legs are growing longer than his arms now, and he can move all of his joints and limbs. Although his eyelids are still fused shut, he can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, he's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but he is forming taste buds.
We had a sonogram yesterday and the twins have been upgraded from Blob status to Baby status. They look completely human now...especially between the legs. It was obvious...we have TWO BOYS! Baby A is on the left with his head down and Baby B is on the right with his head up. Baby A looked like he was throwing a fit with his head thrown back and his back arched. Sono lady thought he was gonna be trouble cause he wasn't allowing her to get the measurements she wanted. When she panned up, turns out Baby B was kicking A in the head and A was just trying to get away. Without further delay...heres the slide show of old and current sonogram pics. For you guys who wanted printouts, you can order from kodakgallery.com HERE, or just click on the slide show to get the full sized pics and print them out for yourself.

  1. Two boys! How wonderful! My little sister has twin boys and they are adorable. She dresses them in different colors so she can tell out of the corner of her eye which one is which. :)
