New Baby Pics!

It has been a while, but here some pics from a couple at home "photo shoots." The photo album [CLICK HERE] was taken our first week home back on the 5th. I wasn't too excited at how they turned out so I was going to redo them, but time slipped by and now the kids are bigger. This second album [CLICKITY-CLICK HERE] was taken earlier this week. It started with the kids in their RAIDER onesies, then turned into nakey baby pics.

Holly's parents have been here since last Saturday and it has been awesome having family here. There are more "normal" pics of the boys and family/friends in the regular photo album with the most recent starting at pic #153 [CLICK HERE]. Both of Holly's parents have been cooking and watching the boys for us and it has been such a great week. Holly and I even had a lunch date alone at a fancy Italian place. The Olive Garden. That was our "fancy" night out for like the first 4 years of our life together. Holly took home some Tiramisu, so she was happy. Mr.Greg drove back home today and got there safely. We miss you already Pops! Come back soon.

One other exciting thing happend this week...Jeremy and I took a trip. It was 3:30 in the AM and Holly had been up all night and woke me for some help. So I offered to take them downstairs so she can sleep uninterrupted. Holly went down with Jordan and I followed...laptop and tea in my left arm and Jeremy in my right arm (like a football). Took a few steps, lifted my left leg and then my right foot slipped off the step hit the next step and kept going. My back and tail bone crashed down on the stairs and when I hit, Jeremy rolled out of my arms. He was swaddled really tight and started sledding down the stairs...some how I just slammed the stairs and sat up right away and grabbed him. In that split second all the worst horrible thoughts ran through my mind and I was just sick. Holly came running back up terrified. I was holding Jeremy and knew everything was fine and then the pain settled in. After Holly panicked, Jeremy started crying...but I walked him down stairs and he went back to sleep. Worst part was just having to clean up the tea I spilled.

Bum Genius

Did you all know its hard to find N size (newborn) diapers? Cause I didn't. Costco (its a warehouse) didn't have any N diapers. Not even the generic brand. Went to HEB and they had ONE bag of HEB brand diapers. Also, did you know they cost over $10 for 32-pack? Sounds like a lot, but that one bag lasts our boys about 2 days. Thats about $30-$40 a week for diapers. $120-$160 per month.

Oh, the day I left the house looking for diapers and didn't find any....Aunt Cindy dropped by later with food and....DIAPERS! Hallelujah!

Where am I going with this? Whats with the blue diaper? What is Bum Genius? I'm glad you asked. Bum Genius is hopefully our answer tothe  disposable diaper money pit. Say hello to the one size cloth diaper that is Bum Genius 3.0!! This diaper comes with some high praise from our frien Deborah. Just ordered a 12-pack of these from cottonbabies.com. Ordered a bunch of blue and green ones. 12 won't even get us through a full day, but its a start. We will keep adding more. We are planning to get up to between 25-32 diapers which should give us a couple days worth. It will cost about $400...but these diapers should at last 'til the boys are about 2.

Our first shipment just shipped!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Just a few of my favorite things...
  1. More pics! Check out the PHOTO ALBUM LINK for more pics...I believe the new ones start around #130. There are photos of our doc from Friday's visit. She is posing with both the boys.

  2. Friends and Family! Had more visits from friends and family. Aubrey and Angele (some our teens from our old youth group) came by and hung out Friday afternoon. Marcos and Lori came by later that evening and brought a Papa John's gift card! Heather and Drew came by today (well, not Drew, stayed home sick) and brought some homemade dinner: salad with strawberries, cheesy chicken stuffed croissants and brownie bites. Anita came by a little early to check out the boys and hang out on Saturday before our jam. Cindy (Holly's sister) comes by again and again brings food and goodies...and much needed newborn sized diapers. Never knew it'd be so hard to shop for N sized diapers. Didn't find any at all at Costco this morning. Stopped at HEB and there was only 1 bag of the HEB brand diapers. Then Cindy shows up later with more bags of diapers...awesome!

  3. Raiders! This still falls under friends and family but needed its own section. We got a gift from the Carlisles last week for the boys which was unexpected and much appreciated. Then today, I check the mail and theres a USPS Priority envelope...no name, Cali address. Open it up and was just struck with joy...a personally autographed Raiders photo from #66 Cooper Carlisle to the boys!! OMG OMG OMG!

  4. THE BOYS!! This should have been #1 -- but I was saving the best for last. In the pics we uploaded today have our visitors with the boys and also, Jeremy's umbilical cord! His shrivaled up cord finally fell off. One less thing to worry about when changing diapers...woohoo! Oh, and we've set up a baby web cam...won't be online all the time, but if you want the link and password to view, just e-mail me and I will send you the info.

Tasty Dinner and More Baby Pics

Adam and Jessi came over this evening with Jessi's homemade enchiladas and bean soup. Both were incredibly tasty...can't wait for the leftovers tomorrow. They also brought along some valentine's onesies and much needed burp clothes. Pretty cool.

Not sure if I updated the last time I added photos to the album. We are now up to 129...I just added 9 more tonight. Once again, here is the PHOTO ALBUM LINK.

Oh, and I made Jeremy's first LOL tonight. Used a picture that looks like he is using the Force.

We're Home!! Thank You All

Packed the kids up in the back of the truck and hoisted Holly in the front and we finally went home late Friday afternoon. Got home to a house that we left a mess on Sunday night. Guess it wasn't the best idea to give up on the boys coming home early and just planning on the induce date. We were all set to get the last minute cleaning in on Monday. We were going to go to bed about 8PM for that one last night of deep sleep. HA...suckers.

Never got to sleep Sunday night. Never got in the last minute cleaning. Never got that last deep sleep. 18 hours in the hospital before the boys came. 5 days in the hospital. We finally got the family home. Already taking way too many pictures...new pictures uploaded. CLICK HERE for the photo gallery. The latest pics start at #68. We've got about 2-3 hours between feeding times. That is where we squeeze in naps, I clean, laundry, a bath is always nice.

My mom and Roy came over early Saturday morning driving in from Edmond, Oklahoma. They couldn't get a Friday or Monday off for an extended stay, but they made the most of their weekend visit. Grabbing lunch for us on Saturday, groceries, cooking dinner, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning/organizing the pantry...etc...etc. What a Godsend.

Thank you all for everything you all have done for us this week picking up lunches, dinners and just visiting with us and offering help. We love you guys, thank you so much for all the help.
