Every time you lie, a kitty dies...

This kitty paid the price for that little white lie of yours. You dirty rat! Ok...well, this blog is pretty wack. If you don't like pictures of dead things, please click HERE instead.

First off, the only reason we took these pictures is because we had no idea this kind of wildlife was around us. We are driving home from lunch today, I had a Whataburger with bacon and cheese and Holly had the chicken sandwich. We had an errand to run before hand and the timing was off and we got to Whataburger like 5 minutes past 12. Just in time for the rush. My least favorite time to go out for lunch. I like to eat between 11:00 and 11:30 if I can help it. We both ordered onion rings with our combos and Holly got jalapeños with her chicken sandwich. The food comes and we have one order of onion rings and one order of fries. So I tell Holly they messed up her order of onion rings. We check the receipt and they got it right on the order, they just have problems with 3rd grade reading. So she goes back up and corrects it. We have to wait for a fresh batch of rings to finish up. We start on our sandwiches. Holly's doesn't have the jalapeños she ordered on it. Again, its there on the receipt...people just have a problem following directions. So I go back up and ask for some jalapeños for a sandwich. The 15 year old behind the counter says, "you have to pay for them." I said, "I did pay for them. I just didn't get them on my sandwich." He says, "oh." So he hands me a bag with 2 full jalapeños in it. I hand it back and say I want the sliced ones to put on a sandwich. I finally get the sliced jalapeños for Holly's chicken sandwich and lunch was good. There were 2 ladies sitting next to us and both of them had to go back up to correct their orders. Pretty sad.

Back to our story. We are headed back home going down Parmer Lane and approaching the Samsung plant where traffic is being squeezed down to 1 lane...and thats when we saw it. A cat, a big cat, not huge...but bigger than a big house cat, on the side of the road with those lynx type chin hairs. We both did a double take and looked at each other, "nahhh." Then we see some guy on the side of the road running towards it. We look back and he stops at it and is checking it out. So we look at each other again and now I'm making a U-turn. One more U-ie and we are heading towards it again. We pull over right in front of it, put on the hazards and get out. I'm no cat expert, but we were pretty sure it was a wild bobcat type cat. Just didn't think they were running 'round in these here parts. I go back to the 4Runner and get my phone out. Then I wait for a lull in traffic cause I kinda feel like an idiot taking pictures of dead cats on the side of the road. Theres finally a break in traffic and I snap off these pics:

Kinda gruesome I know, but cool too...I guess. Just cause I've never seen anything like this cat before in the "wild." You can see the chin whiskers that are lynxish. The little bobbed tail is visible too. The teeth are a little hard to see, but they were pretty ferocious. It looks like what you see on most websites and they are found statewide in Texas, says this dude: LINK. Thats new to me. Of course I would've preferred to get some pics of this cat chasing and catching a rabbit...or chasing one of those "house" cats dumb people let outside of their home to roam around and spread disease or put themselves in danger like this cat, that would have been a great pic. Nevertheless, it was cool and sad to see this cat in person. Too bad its dead. The end.
